Our Story

We built the guide we wish we'd had

Caribbean Trend Lab exists for everyone who has ever looked out at the Caribbean and wondered, “Could I actually live here?” — and then drowned trying to find a straight answer.

Why we started

Caribbean Trend Lab was born on a blue bench by the water in Antigua. Our founder is a daughter of these islands — born and raised in Antigua and Barbuda — who spent years watching people fall in love with the Caribbean and then struggle to find honest answers about actually living here.

Friends, family abroad, and strangers in her inbox all asked the same questions: what does it really cost to live in Antigua? Which islands offer a digital nomad visa? What are the tax rules, the residency pathways, the true monthly budget for a family of three? She knew the real answers existed — but they were buried in government PDFs, outdated forums, and sales pages dressed up as advice. Every honest answer cost hours of digging, and the numbers that looked authoritative were often inflated, stale, or quietly trying to sell something.

As an islander, she also saw how often the Caribbean gets reduced to a postcard — beautiful but flattened, its real life and real numbers left out of the story. So she set out to build the resource she wished existed: one trustworthy place that gathers the cost of living, visa and residency options, tax treatment, and tourism trends across the region — sourced carefully, presented honestly, and written with genuine love for these islands and the people drawn to them.

Meet the founder

Built by an islander, for everyone drawn to these shores

A proud native of Antigua and Barbuda, our founder grew up with the sea at her doorstep and a deep understanding of what makes Caribbean life extraordinary — and what newcomers genuinely need to know before they arrive.

That insider's perspective is woven into everything here. She knows the difference between the tourist brochure and the lived reality, between a glossy investment pitch and a path that actually works for a real family. Caribbean Trend Lab is her way of opening the door — sharing the islands she loves with honesty, warmth, and the practical detail no one else bothers to gather.

The impact we hope to have

Moving abroad — or even just dreaming about it is one of the most emotional, high-stakes decisions a person can make. We want to take the fear and confusion out of that journey. When you understand the real costs, the legitimate pathways, and the honest trade-offs, a daunting leap becomes a confident, well-planned step.

Our hope is simple: that a nurse in Ohio, a remote founder in London, or a retiree ready for warmer days can come here, get clear answers in minutes instead of months, and make the decision that is right for them — eyes open, no surprises. If we save you from one costly mistake or give you the courage to finally make the move, we have done our job.

What we stand for

The principles behind every number we publish.

Truth over hype

Relocation decisions are too important for guesswork. We label what is verified, what is estimated, and where every number comes from — so you can trust what you read.

Clarity over clutter

Scattered across dozens of government sites, PDFs, and forums, the answers exist but the time to find them does not. We bring it together in one clear place.

People over transactions

Behind every search is a family, a dream, or a fresh start. We build for the human on the other side of the screen, not the sale.
